For website designers there is always a minimum cost to designing any website. This covers the collation of all the relevant materials such as the text, pictures and any sound and/or video files. All these need processing so that they don’t hinder the enjoyment of the viewer (big files are a no no in this medium).
There is also of course those ubiquitous general house keeping bits such as email and letters and invoices. The most important thing is that we need to communicate so you get exactly what you need for your part of the World Wide Web.
I have a minimum price (currently £200) for a website and this is to allow for all the above. Of course, if you need something more complex then the cost will reflect this accordingly.
Logos are useful to give the website a ‘look’ and ‘feel’ and together with the colours gives the whole website an essence which describes you. This ‘look’ is designed to go hand in hand with any materials you use such as business cards and headed note paper. This combined ‘look’ gives an consistency to your company image.
The other direct costs are hosting and domain name registration which together are around £35 per year depending on your requirements.
